Our client International Gorilla Conservation Programme (IGCP) is a coalition of leading international Conservation Organizations, namely Fauna and Flora International (FFI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), operating in the Virunga-Bwindi Landscape of DRC, Rwanda and Uganda.
IGCP Mission is “To conserve gorillas and their habitat through partnering with key stakeholders while significantly contributing to sustainable livelihood development.”
IGCP seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced Rwanda national for the position of Assistant Finance and Administration Officer. The position will be based in Musanze, Rwanda and reporting to the Finance and Administration Officer.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibility of the position of Assistant Finance and Administration Officer, is to process payments, key in financial data in the accounting software
Preparing/Raising payment vouchers, journals and verifying expenses and recording them in financial system
Manage IGCP fuel coupons
Be the keeper of the keys for Musanze vehicles and offices
Ensuring accurate filing of all financial documents
Maintain Musanze office petty cash & ensure safe custody of the cash box & cheque books during and after working hours
Analyze financial data and recommend financial actions to Supervisors
Work closely with the field offices to ensure all transactions are compiled on a timely basis
Prepare and manage project advances to staff.
Manage the petty cash account.
Ensure accurate tracking and recording of project expenditures in Sunsystems
Summary of bank accounts and cash balances
Prepare payroll for IGCP staff.
Review the vehicle fuel consumption and produce a report
Process cash account and prepare the petty cash reconciliations and certificates
Prepare and ensure that taxes are paid on a timely manner (PAYE, RSSF, tax withheld) and produce a report.
Adhere to monthly reporting deadlines as indicated in the monthly reporting schedules.
Perform any other duties as required.
Develop and follow IGCP procurement policies for purchasing office supplies, equipment and services.
Safeguard assets against theft, destruction, or inadequate maintenance.
Manage office logistics and vehicles.
Coordinate vehicle and equipment repairs
Support coordinate procurement process ensuring compliance to IGCP policy and donor requirements
Coordinate insurance renewals for IGCP vehicles, property and staff
Organize hotel booking for IGCP staff & visitors
Perform any other duties as required
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Required Education Qualifications
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in finance or accounting, professional accounting certificate will be an asset.
At least 2 years’ experience in accounting or related field
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience in financial management software, knowledge of Sunsystems will be an asset
Willingness to work as part of a multi-cultural team
