Our client is a specialist in emerging markets with special needs, operating in over fifteen (15) Sub-Saharan African countries. The company delivers high quality projects and business solutions which span across electromechanical engineering, communications technology, agriculture and public health.

Our client seeks to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to fill the position of Pre Sales Engineer - Power.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform Presale activities alongside the sales team; Join the sales team to assist with presentations and technical backup
  • To collaborate with sales and technical support resources to ensure proposed deals include technical solutions that accurately address customers’ needs
  • Create network designs
  • Perform presentations
  • Clarify technical requirements
  • Take full responsibility over tenders’ response
  • Produce technical documentation
  • Produce tender requirements documents
  • Promote the sales of SLAs
  • Coordinate closely with the sales team to align solutions design with customers’ business requirement
  • Scope the technical solutions required to address customers’ requirement
  • Assist technical team leader in Site surveys
  • Conduct pre-installation sessions with the customers to clarify the requirements, and set the expectations prior to installation.
  • Assist technical team leader with Staging the equipment in the lab prior to any installation, to make sure we have all equipment, compare with the order, upgrade to the latest SW version, configuring and checking that everything is working as per the "pre installation" design, and confirm that the technical people have the skills to install.
  • Recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and the company
  • Serve as the Point of Contact to all Technical difficulties
  • Perform regular internal trainings to upgrade the staff’s knowledge and skill level
  • Research new products, stage and understand how they are operating in conjunction with our existing system
  • Write a training manual for the demo equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional qualifications is an added advantage
  • Knowledge in computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, outlook and power point, auto card, MS Visio)
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • At least 4 years’ experience in power pre sales
  • Must have the ability to transfer knowledge and mentor junior technicians
  • Must be able to delegate responsibilities among junior technicians
  • Must demonstrate good management skills i.e. ability to supervise and manage a team
  • Possess good organizational and time management skills
  • Be articulate and able to communicate well with customers
  • Be dependable by offering support, direction and solutions to the team
