Position Details: Head of Business Development

Location: Kampala, Uganda

Job purpose
To profitably build the company brand and market share by   developing marketing and business development strategies aimed at acquiring and retaining quality business

Key Tasks
  • Acquisition of new business 
  • Retention of business 
  • Development and implementation of marketing strategy 
  • Build and maintain value adding relationships with brokers and intermediaries 
  • Improve underwriting results 
  • Analyse and report on market intelligence
  • Appraise, train and develop of staff  
  • Ensure operational efficiency 
  • Develop, implement and monitor corporate publicity and branding initiatives 
  • Bancassurance – Take lead in the activation of the Bancassurance channel to contribute to the topline growth. Act as the liaison person for all the Banks.
  • Product Development – Take lead in the development and repacking of products

  • Sharp commercial sense and ability to spot and exploit business opportunities 
  • Computer literacy
Minimum academic and professional qualifications
  • University degree in a business related field 
  • Pursuing CII – passed atleast 5 exams
  • 7 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Additional qualifications in marketing and business development will be an added advantage
